THIS PUB IS NOT DOG FRIENDLY. Despite advertising itself as such, on arriving there we found a sign outside saying No Dogs..... when we asked, we were told they weren't allowed inside, but we could sit outside on the street. In January. That's not dog friendly. That's the street. Dogs are allowed there anyway. If you're out with a dog don't waste your time.
Lovely pub, made to look like a country pub. Prices are what is to be expected for Bowness, it will never be cheap in touristy place like the Lake District! Staff was nice and funny and the notes on the table are meant to be taken with a pinch of salt. I think people rating this pub down have misunderstood the staff and the culture of the pub. Wed definitely return and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Hole in TWall :)
This is a great place, and well worth the visit. The ceiling in the main bar is fascinating. I would love to know more about the history of the place, and the story behind the ceiling. Great selection of gins too.
Lovely pub with lots of history, situated close to the lakes of Windermere. Great selection of drinks and a roaring fireplace to keep you warm on those winter night's. Will definitely go back.
Gorgeous pub full of character and welcoming staff. Superb selection of ales. Lots of nooks and crannies for seating. Interesting odds and ends abound hanging from the ceiling. A great place to eat and drink.
