Last minute booking but was clean nice room and very friendly staff! Breakfast was very nice too good choice! Great value for money!
A bit dated but facilities in good working order. Plenty of hot water when needed. This is not the swankiest of places but it was spotlessly clean. Excellent, tasty cooked breakfast. Every mouthful is a delight if you like a good fry up. The food is quality and nicely cooked. Andy is a character. If I could find a fault it was only that they dont serve fresh coffee from grounds, just instant. The waitress didnt even seem to know that coffee should be made from grounds not powder from a jar. So they could get a filter machine or give individual cafetires at the table. Just my personal opinion but these days people are more discerning about coffee. If you are coming to Windermere late and need dinner you should book ahead. We came late and ended up eating at 10:00 and it was literally the only restaurant with a table for us. We were unable to find any space for a party of 5. The Magic Wok staff were very kind to us on the first night. We ate there again because its excellent. If you like Chinese, this place should be first on your list.
+ location was ok+ breakfast included but nothing special just a small full english breakfast- room was so noisy we couldnt sleep as we were constantly awaken by cars driving by- the room with 4 single beds was in the basement, which was dark, smelly and didnt seem very clean, beds were very squeaky - the person who served our breakfast had such a cheap attitude, my friend changed her mind and decided that she does want a slice of toast with her breakfast, when she asked for it the servers face made us all feel uncomfortable as if wed asked for an extra free breakfast and not a mere slice of bread- check-in at 4PM and check-out at 10AM which basically means youre paying for 16 hours and not the standard 22 that most hotels do i.e. check-in 2pm check-out 12pm (check-in wasnt flexible either and when an earlier check-in was requested, we were met with a very abrupt check-in is from 4pm, wasnt impressed by the attitude)- its enough to look at the owners rude replies on tripadvisor to decide this isnt a place youd wanna go to- overall very poor value but we didnt have anywhere else to stay so...
