Richard and Yvonne are great hosts, clean and seemingly new/well kept establishment with an excellent breakfast, conveniently located.
I brought my partner to the lodge to celebrate her birthday upon arrival we were greeted by a gentlemen I believed was one of the co-owners of the lodge, he was very welcoming and stated that if we need help with anything there is an out of hours bell situated in the hallway downstairs we can press. Our room was clean, however the dirt in the wash basin wasn't very pleasant upon arrival. Breakfast was amazing and had no problems with the service offered. However, towards the end of our stay, we began to realize it was not a 5* lodge this is because, on two instances, a lady we believe was the other owner, was not welcoming at all. Firstly, on the night of my partner's birthday I rang the out of hours bell and asked her if I could have the birthday cake that was stored in the fridge, the lady appeared very rude and fake towards me. I then asked her if I could have a cup of ice she replied rudely by saying "you are pushing it". The final straw occurred upon departure, when the lady ran towards my vehicle yelling and screaming aggressively about an accident that occurred while me and my partner were taking photographs of her cake on her birthday celebration the night before, I felt very threatened for my life and did not know what to do. Overall, I believe the Wheatlands lodge services in terms of the facilities we were provided with were 5* but the quality of customer satisfaction was awful and appalling, I would not recommend this lodge to anyone, and therefore I am writing this review warning any future customers, of the potential dangers of staying at this lodge.
We recently stayed three nights and every aspect of Wheatlands Lodge exceeded our expectations! The rooms were fabulous, location was perfect and Richard and Yvonne were wonderful hosts. The breakfast was also first class and the staff could not be more helpful. A great establishment, highly recommend!
Fantastic B&B, lovely owners who can't do enough for you, I would highly recommend this guest house.
Stayed for a week and made to feel very welcome. Breakfast included a lot of home made products. Nothing seemed too much trouble and would definitely stay again. Ideal location and one of the few with a car park and garden.
