Quiet.. pony trekking. Dog friendly pub. small shop. Views to die for. Short drive to lake windermere
Had a lovely relaxed weeks stay with the boyfriend and dog we didn't have a car though wich is definitely recommended for the lake district. Only one place to eat onsite and the little shop is very overprices and doesn't sell much. Wouldn't recommend taking kids to this park as there was a small play area and not much else, we couldn't find anything to do close by and got quoted a very high price for horse riding for less than an hour! The cabins are decorated to high standard (depending on the cabin type) and they were very clean. Cuttlery and dishes are included but there are no baking trays but we mostly ate out because food places deliver to the park but you have to pick it up at the gate. Would really recommend to a couple WITH A CAR for a romantic, relaxing getaway.
Really cosy lodges in a beautiful area. So many walks near by and it is nice not having to drive anyway and be in crowds of people. The park is very well maintained without looking unslighty and too commercial. The pub is cosy and the food what you expect from a pub. Perfect after a long walk...Plus dog friendly. Stayed in two different lodges and both were clean, comfortable and modern.
I went horse riding here and I could fault it one bit. The horses were fantastic and our leader was brilliant very tentative and always on the ball. Had a right giggle and laugh brilliant time. I went on the 2 hour experience ride and the views were lovely. I can't recommend this place enough.
If you want to just get away from reality this is the place. All staff well-mannered and helpful. This is me and my dad enjoying a real ale at the on site pub
